How we think

We want to make sure the systems that your business revolves around don't break.

That is the whole job. Spreadsheets, documents and custom tools are how we deliver it, not what we are. Every engagement starts with three questions: What is this business for? What does it depend on most? What breaks if that fails? The answers decide the deliverable. Sometimes it is a rebuilt sheet. Sometimes it is a one-page rule everyone can follow. Sometimes it is a written plan and nothing more, because building would have been the wrong move. We choose after we understand the problem — not before.

Why “Barycentric”

A barycenter is the point a whole system turns around. The Earth and the Moon both circle a shared point, and it isn't the center of the Earth. Find that point, and the motion of the whole system makes sense.

Every business has one too, and it is rarely where the org chart says it is. It is the sheet, the process or the step everything actually waits on. We find that point, build what it needs to hold, and keep the rest of the system moving around it.

One way of thinking, four specialties

Everyone here approaches a problem the same way: find the center, name what breaks, fix the most valuable thing first, write it down. The specialties differ. The method doesn't.

• Business. What does this earn, cost or risk? If a fix doesn't move one of those, we say so before you pay for it.
• Technology. We build beside what you already run. New tools sit in parallel with your systems, plug in where they earn it, and grow one piece at a time. Nothing in them acts without your yes.
• Management. Every job has an owner, a date and a written plan. Decisions are logged. Whoever builds it doesn't check it; someone else does.
• Consulting. We tell you what we think, with the why. If we think you're wrong, you'll hear it plainly, and you'll hear what would change our mind.

What we won't do

• We won't ask for your passwords. You sign in to your own accounts.
• We won't send, post or spend anything without your yes. Anything we build for you works the same way.
• We won't keep your files. They are used for your job only, and our copies are deleted 30 days after delivery.
• We won't promise numbers we can't show you. If we can't trace it, we don't claim it.
